The short version
Number Worm doesn't ask for your name, email, or any account. Your game progress is saved in your browser, and a few things are stored on our server so leaderboards, friend groups, and save codes can work.
What's saved on your device
Your puzzles solved, levels, stars, streak, settings, and nickname are saved in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data erases them unless you've kept your save code.
What's stored on our server
- A random player ID created by the game. It isn't connected to your name, email, or device.
- Your nickname and solve times, if you choose a nickname, so they can appear on leaderboards and in friend groups you join.
- Friend groups you create or join, including the group name and members' nicknames.
- A backup of your game progress, linked to your save code, so you can restore it on another device. Anyone who has your save code can restore your progress, so keep it private.
- Anonymous usage counts, such as how many puzzles were solved each day and how many players visited. These counts don't include anything that identifies you.
Challenge and invite links
When you send a challenge, the link contains your nickname, the puzzle, and your time, so your friend can see what they're trying to beat.
Services we use
Our database is hosted by Supabase. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. The website is hosted by Hostinger. These services may process technical information like your IP address to deliver the site, under their own privacy policies.
Cookies and ads
Number Worm doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies right now. If we add ads or analytics tools in the future, we'll update this page first.
Children
Number Worm is a general-audience puzzle game and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children. Nicknames should never include real names or personal details.
Removing your data
You can leave any friend group from the Leaderboards page and clear your browser data at any time. Leaderboard entries and progress backups that aren't tied to any identity are kept so the game keeps working.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
